Common Questions

Everything you need to know about mountain safety and our emergency response services.

What should I do in an emergency?

In case of an emergency in the mountains, dial 999 or 112 and ask for Mountain Rescue. Stay where you are if it's safe to do so, try to conserve phone battery, and provide your exact location if possible using What3Words or GPS coordinates.

How can I stay safe while hiking?

Always check weather forecasts, bring appropriate gear including waterproofs and warm clothing, tell someone your planned route and expected return time, carry a charged phone, stay within your experience level, and consider taking a basic mountain skills course.

Is there a charge for rescue services?

No, we provide our services completely free of charge. We're a volunteer organisation funded by donations and support from the community. However, we greatly appreciate donations to help maintain our life-saving operations and equipment.

How can I support your mission?

You can support us by making a donation, volunteering to join our team, spreading awareness about mountain safety, or participating in our fundraising events. Every contribution helps us maintain our essential rescue equipment and training programs.
